Kate Moss OVERDUE lipstick review

Good morning all! I hope you're all enjoying the snowy weather and I hope everyone is safe. So this review is overdue completely! I have tried both the first collection and second collection of Moss' lip range. However this review is only my chosen and favourite ones from the highly impressive 11 and 5 piece collection.

So first things first. These lipsticks are both matte and moisturising which really is a difficult combination to find in lipsticks, especially high-street. However, I found these lipsticks to not only have a amazing colour pay off and lasting stain but to always leave your lips feeling moisturised and smooth. I find this difficult to find in many other Riimmel lipsticks and I find they often cake, however I really am shocked at the value for money and the amazing colour availability.

The black packaging are from the first collection and the red are from the second.

The first two favourites I own from the first Kate moss collection which had a amazing 11 colour choice to choose from ranging from soft beiges to harsh purples. I definitely believe this range had a better choice of colours yet I believe the formula is a lot better in the second smaller yet more current colour collection which was realised n early October 2012.

I instantly wanted to choose two extremely lipsticks to my normal plums and reds when i tried the first range so  I chose a soft light pink and quite a black based purple which really reminded me of the lipstick from one of my favourite designers Gareth Pugh's collaboration with MAC.  I also chose from the new range the very on trend staple pink based orange which really is quite similar to my trusty favourite MAC Morange however this a lot more pink based. This is up a completely different street of lipstick for me and at the retail price of £5.49 it was an affordable experiment. I also chose 107 however I shall be doing a review and comparison to more higher brand lipsticks at a later date as I really enjoyed this lipstick and it really deserved its own post!

04- this is a VERY dark highly pigmented blue based purple, his has no other shades of colour apart from a very vampy Gareth Pugh eel lipstick. However no matter how pigmented and the perfect fall shade this is it really isn't for the faint hearted. It screams attention and leaves a very dark stain on your lips for a long while after. In the bullet this lipstick looks near enough black so watch out for all lipstick virgins!

05- this shade is completely different and quite a drastic change for me, it's a very blue based pink with quite a Barbie effect to it. It really reminds me and could easily be a dupe for craving from MAC which is a amplified shade. I find it quite a easy shade to wear for all skin types and I wanted a every day lipstick rather than something to eye catching.

110- this coral shade, like I explained is the perfect pink based coral, it's bright and completely matte yet very very moisturising. It reminds me a lot of Topshops infrared however a lot more moisturised. It's the perfect coral colour for all skin types and really is complete value for money.

All hail Nicola Roberts!

So then, who is exactly like me with their talc powdered colour skin? I've been wondering around hopelessly trying to find a snow like foundation to stop myself from looking either yellow or the ever so popular 'sunkissed' look which I'm really not so sure on. Either way enough goings on, I've found a solution rather than overloading on Halloween white face paint every year to slick on my skin every morning and easily looking like one the Addams family (which isn't really a issue) it is the one and only.....DAINTY DOLL! Lets take a second to clap for the wonderful fellow fair skinned beauty, Nicola Roberts. This small yet highly varied range really is the light at the end of a long and winding foundation tunnel.

However, as its such a specific type of make up and branded and designed by a British pop star, it does come with a pretty hefty price tag, as I'm normally used to a pretty average £12-15 pound price range for a foundation which is probably the most expensive for drug store foundations. I chose to buy two staple things every girl needs, foundation and concealer, which in total came to £36 ( a pretty average amount for a lot of higher end beauty junkies ) however being a student and my life mostly being spent on pens and sketch books (sigh) this really was a splurge.

.

Place of purchase- Boots Coventry city centre.
Price- £22
The foundation colour I chose was 002 light which is one of four shades of foundation ranging from very light to dark. However being specifically for pale skin the dark is still in the pale region.

I found the box packaging with the very uncanny illustration of Nicola herself highly eye catching and quite cute. I was highly impressed with how sleek and different it looked to a lot of make up brands, very edgy. However soon to be highly disappointed with the actual foundation tube, firstly, on a positive side  it had a pump which was very handy for quickness and less unneeded usage. But the packaging is plastic and black matte which I find quite cheap looking and easily prone to dirt  similar to products from NARS. Whilst swatching I thought the plastic packaging was just for a tester, much to my disappointed self it was the actual package.

Now on to the foundation itself.
The consistency is quite dewy and thick, although I thought being such a light shade it would be quite thin and streaky, but it wasn't which was a nice surprise. I do find this foundation very impossible to blend with my usual brush (real techniques buffing brush) so it was easier to warm it with my fingertips and apply with my hands which was quite messy. I didn't think the coverage was as good simply for how light the colour is, although, with the concealer on top you really don't need much more coverage but after five or six wears it was easily buildable.  I liked how this didn't completely cover my face features, such as freckles and beauty marks as I like that look on me with my red hair and lips.

Lasting power; I don't think this really is a lasting foundation, it acts as highlighter as well as foundation so It definitely means you don't need added face products which is always a plus point. Overall I think this product is a good start for our pale skinned selves however I don't think this is the end, I think this is good start for a up and coming revolution to foundation, I would buy this product again however id either use it for really good skin days or nights out as its highlighting and perfect for a dewy glow on the skin. the only main issue is I think that if you're a dry skin sufferer like myself, I'd suggest buying a good old fashioned moisturiser and even primer before using this so it doesn't crack or show any blemishes.

I hope you all enjoyed that lovely long and time consuming review, I just thought I couldn't find a well explained review for Dainty doll brand anywhere, so I thought id give all my fellow pale girls a heads up!

Keep updatfor my Dainty doll concealer hot pour review.

Meg! X

Meg leigh herself!

hello lovey's!
Well I'm pretty new to all this blogging and updating a online diary so please be nice!
I've been putting this off for over three months now and its finally about the time of discussing the scary word which is..INTERNSHIPS. Of course the company's i choose and apply to are obviously going to want to read and listen to all my 'wonderful' ideas and imaginative designs to pick me out from the rest of the crowd and this is they shall do this, via blogging.
I'm your average tea drinking, Vivienne Westwood loving Fashion student from the Midlands,UK.
Currently studying a degree in Fashion design and accessories in my not so easy (and definitely not as fun) first year, hoping to achieve a lovely little second (or first please) and then swan off in to the fashion capital, Paris. To then work in either fashion illustration, fashion journalism or if all else fails a space man, least then I know I didn't dress up in tin foil every day when i was five for nothing!

Enough ramblings today however, if you're interested in, fashion, opinions and good old random facts and diary extracts from a overly emotional 19 year old woman, read on!
